Porter is a next-generation app platform / PaaS built on top of Kubernetes. We believe DevOps can be automated for the overwhelming majority of software companies. Unlike many other Heroku alternatives, we recognize that the value of a PaaS is greatest when it can be delivered into a company's own cloud and scale with them.
Widespread adoption of Kubernetes in recent years has been a game-changer, allowing us to build a multi-cloud platform that abstracts infrastructure management by default while exposing control to users when eventually desired.
Porter went through the first remote batch of Y Combinator (S20), and we are still a small team of three technical co-founders. We are committed to a hybrid work structure with options for both in-person and remote work. We are primarily based in NYC but are happy to discuss working arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
